Do you have the blue hoodie in medium?
Hi, I'm Northside Outdoor's AI assistant. Yes, the Trail Hoodie in blue is in stock in medium, at $49.00.
Nice. Anything that goes with it?
The Ridge Beanie in blue is a good match, at $18.00. Would you like one checkout link for both?
Yes please!
Here's your checkout link for the hoodie and the beanie. You'll pay on our Shopify checkout.
Also, where's my order #1042?
I can check that for you. What's the email address on the order?
Thanks, that matches. Order #1042 is on its way with Canada Post.

What it does for shoppers

The help a good shop assistant gives.

It works from your real store, so what it says about a product is what's in Shopify right now.

Products and stock

It answers questions about your products, prices and what's available. It only shows products that are active in your store, and it checks Shopify's own "available for sale" flag.

Help choosing

Not sure which one? It asks a question or two and suggests what fits from what you sell.

One well-placed extra

When it helps, it suggests a fitting extra item. You choose how keen it is: gently, balanced or actively.

A link to buy

It sends the product's page, or one checkout link for several items. The shopper pays on your own Shopify checkout.

Order status and tracking

"Where's my order?" gets a real answer: the status, the items and the tracking, once it has checked the order is theirs.

Your policies, your words

Add your shipping, returns and sizing information, and it answers from that. Without it, it says so and gives your support contact.

You stay in charge

It helps your shoppers. It doesn't run your store.

It can't change your store

We recommend connecting it with five permissions that only let it read products and orders and make checkout links. Shopify itself then refuses any other change, whatever a shopper writes.

No discounts or promises

It never makes or promises discounts, prices, delivery dates or refunds.

Orders only for their owner

It shares an order only when the order number and the email on it match what the shopper gives. Without an order number, they can confirm their email with a 6-digit code.

Private details stay private

It never shares a delivery address, a phone number or payment details, and it never takes or records a payment.

Honest about being an AI

It tells shoppers it's an AI assistant in its first reply.

Refunds and complaints come to you

Refunds, returns, exchanges, cancellations, order changes and complaints go to your support contact. Connect your email and it also sends your team a short summary.

How it works

Six steps, with the assistant beside you.

The Hania assistant guides you through each one. Connecting your store takes a few minutes in Shopify's Dev Dashboard, and the assistant tells you what to do on each screen.

Answer five questions

Your store's name, how shoppers can reach a person, where to email handoffs (optional), how keen it should be on extra items, and anything else it should know.

Connect your store

Create a small app for your store in Shopify's Dev Dashboard, give it five permissions, and paste in its two keys. Then the assistant checks it can see your store and your products.

Add your policies

Paste in your shipping, returns and sizing information, or give the addresses of those pages.

Try it yourself

Chat with it in Hania and ask what your shoppers would, before anyone else sees it.

Add it to your site

Paste one snippet into your Shopify theme, and the chat appears on your store.

On your website

One snippet in your theme.

The chat goes on every page of your store with a single snippet. The assistant gives you the snippet and the exact steps in your Shopify admin.

  • No plugin to install. The snippet goes into your theme's main layout file, just above the closing body tag.
  • After a theme update. Shopify notes that a theme update can remove code changes. If the chat disappears, paste the snippet again.

What it needs

Only Shopify is required.

Shopify lets it look up your products, prices, stock and orders, and make checkout links. Email is optional: connect it and the agent can email your team when a shopper needs a person.

Questions

Things store owners ask.

No. It reads your products and orders and makes checkout links. With the five permissions we recommend, Shopify itself refuses any other change to your store, whatever a shopper writes.
No. It never makes or promises discounts, prices, delivery dates or refunds. Questions about those go to your team.
It can see orders from the last 60 days, which is Shopify's default for apps. For an older order, it gives the shopper your support contact.
From what you add to its knowledge, such as your shipping, returns and sizing information. It can't read your policy pages from Shopify. If you haven't added a policy, it says it doesn't have that information and gives your support contact.
Yes, in its first reply.
Not yet. Hania's Shopify app is waiting for Shopify's approval. For now you connect your store with a small app of your own, and the Hania assistant walks you through it.
