Use Hania from ChatGPT and Claude
You can connect ChatGPT or Claude to your Hania workspace and ask them to build, change, run and check your agents for you. They work through Hania's own tools, signed in as you, and they can only do what your role in the workspace allows.
This is different from Use your ChatGPT plan, where your Hania agents run on your ChatGPT account. Here, ChatGPT or Claude works on your Hania workspace.
What an app can do
- Agents: list, view, create, change and delete them.
- Tools: browse the tool catalog, give agents tools, and create or change tool configurations.
- Knowledge: list, add and remove knowledge entries.
- Runs: start an agent or a team, stop a run, and read run summaries, transcripts and tool calls.
- Teams: create and manage teams of agents.
- Channels, chat widget, post-call hooks and phone numbers: view and manage the ones you already have, search for numbers, and assign a number to an agent.
- Voices, models, blueprints, plan and usage: view them.
What an app can't do
- Buy phone numbers. That's done in the Hania console.
- See or enter passwords and API keys. When a tool needs one, the app gives you a link to a secure form in the Hania console, and you enter it there.
- Change your plan, add credit or manage payment. Billing stays in the console.
- Connect a new messaging channel. The app gives you the steps, and you connect it in the console.
- Use or change your built-in Hania Assistant.
- Do anything your role doesn't allow. A Viewer's app can only look, and a Member's app can't see billing.
Before you start
- You need a Hania account. Sign in with the email and password or Google account you normally use.
- If your workspace requires two-factor authentication, set it up first.
Connect from Claude
- In Claude, go to Customize > Connectors.
- If Hania is listed, select it and click Connect. If it isn't, click Add custom connector and enter
https://app.hania.ai/mcp, then click Add. - Sign in to Hania and approve the connection.
On Claude's Free plan you can add one custom connector. On Team and Enterprise plans, an Owner adds the connector for the organization, and each member then connects with their own Hania account.
Connect from ChatGPT
- In ChatGPT, open Plugins (chatgpt.com/plugins).
- If Hania is listed, select it and connect. If it isn't, select the plus button, choose Add custom MCP server, enter a name and the URL
https://app.hania.ai/mcp, and follow the steps to create it. - Sign in to Hania and approve the connection.
What you approve
When you connect, Hania shows you the app's name and the permissions it asks for, and you allow or deny them together:
- See your agents, tools, knowledge, runs and usage
- Create, change, run and delete your agents and their tools
The app also tells ChatGPT or Claude which actions change or delete things, so they can check with you first.
See what an app did
Every action an app takes is listed in App activity: what it did, which app, who it acted for, when, and whether it worked. To open it, click your name in the bottom-left corner of the dashboard, choose Workspace settings and open the App activity tab. Owners and Admins see everyone's activity. Other members see their own.
Disconnect
- In Hania, open Connected apps and click Disconnect. To get there, click your name in the bottom-left corner of the dashboard, choose Profile, and find Connected apps on the Profile & security page.
- You can also remove Hania in Claude under Customize > Connectors.
- Changing your Hania password disconnects every app.
- A connection that isn't used for 30 days ends by itself.
Costs
Agent and team runs started from an app are billed like any other run in your workspace. Your ChatGPT or Claude plan is separate and between you and that company.
Troubleshooting
- The app asks you to sign in again. The connection ended: you disconnected it, changed your password, or didn't use it for 30 days. Connect again.
- The app can't use Hania after your workspace turned on two-factor authentication. Set up two-factor authentication in your profile, then connect again.
- An action is missing or refused. Your role doesn't allow it. Ask a workspace Owner or Admin.
- "Too many tool calls on this connection." An app can make up to 60 calls a minute on one connection. Wait the number of seconds shown and try again.
- A tool needs a password or API key. Open the link the app gives you and enter it in the secure form in the Hania console.
- Anything else: contact us at [email protected] or hania.ai/contact. For security concerns, email [email protected].
